Here's one of my pages from the museum. Damn, that was a fun place to draw. So fun that I forgot to eat all day. By the time David and I were driving back I was about to pass out!
Yeah, these are really good. I wouldn't have the patients to draw that engine, but you captured it so simply and translated all the parts so well with just a few strokes.
thanks! sometimes I have the patience for this kind of subject and sometimes I don't. I've tried to simplify my technique so that when something looks complicated, I ask myself "what am I really looking at?" most of the time it's just a bunch of squiggly lines, dashes, and dots. Then I just draw that instead of what the object really is.
• Label your posts like this: month.day.year Name. For example, 08.17.09 LWhite •The goal is least a full page in a sketchbook per day • Any subject matter, media, level of finish is fine • You should post at least every three days • Pages should be dated • The overall goal for the sketches is to have fun and to draw when the moment or opportunity presents itself. Also to encourage experimentation and interpretation. The goal is NOT for every page to be pretty.
