Here's some studies in the style of some illustrator who I can't remember. Watercolor on that crappy Canson watercolor paper. That stuff really sucks, don't use it except for studies and stuff. Arches and Fabriano are much better. Although the arches isn't truly white, which means that the paintings can look dull on it if you layer the paint.

Here's one of my pages from the museum. Damn, that was a fun place to draw. So fun that I forgot to eat all day. By the time David and I were driving back I was about to pass out!

Headed out to the Air and Space Museum in McMinville this weekend with Lee White's landscape drawing class. Never been before. If you're a fan of machines that hurtle people through the air at wildly inappropriate speeds you should definitely take time for a visit.
I'll be posting some pages over the next couple days.

I'm conflicted.
Of course I've been sketching, but a certain level of sketch (my usual) is poo. It's putting the right scribbled strokes in place so I know where my final is going. It might as well be cuneiform for all that anyone else would (or could) understand it. This site isn't about critique or working one's heart out on some finished product - it's more a David Macauley type of sketch - the sort of thing you could publish in a casual book.
That said, here are couple of the 30 loose drawings I've made recently for a game. I'll try to scan some unrelated things if time allows, but I'd be curious as to your thoughts about the blog in your lives. What's the impetus? Do you really not work 16 hour days on paying gigs?

part of a demo I'm doing for my costume drawing class tomorrow. Ink, watercolor, tiny bit o' photoshop... 45 minutes working time (1 hour with scanning and photoshop).
Here's my flatter version:

Stepped out for lunch yesterday at my favorite Thai place and did a sketch while waiting. It isn't much too look at from the outside but sooooo tasty.
