Here's a few recent sketches. The first is an image I made for my wife. Her christmas present was some new cookware, so this was the card that went with it. Type surrounded the image.
A new value "sketch" from a drawing I did early on in my hawk hunter development. One thing to point out is his Sparrow hawk talon gauntlet. In the original sketch it got lost a bit in the line work, where as here in the value sketch i really tried to make sure its at least a quicker second read.
Here's more hawk hunter sketches. These are for exploring ideas for a scene. Either a kill, or the celebration after, not sure yet. Comp studies will follow.
My most recent sketches. . . is anyone else noticing a pattern of posting here?
Yeah me too -- so I'm just gonna' take this moment to officially declare myself "KING OF THE BLOG"!!
I performed my civic duty by reporting for jury duty. Unfortunately I wasn't chosen to actually sit in on a case, but that didn't stop me from sketching my fellows while we were hanging out in the jury room waiting to be called up.
Two versions of a painting I'm doing. I posted the sketches before, so I thought I'd post these here. I've done 6 versions in all. All part of the learning. Painting is difficult.
Some quick sketches from the art museum. I'm trying to use the single line technique of just starting at a point and moving around with no lay in. Kinda tough, but I like the "clumsy" quality it gives the line.
• Label your posts like this: month.day.year Name. For example, 08.17.09 LWhite •The goal is least a full page in a sketchbook per day • Any subject matter, media, level of finish is fine • You should post at least every three days • Pages should be dated • The overall goal for the sketches is to have fun and to draw when the moment or opportunity presents itself. Also to encourage experimentation and interpretation. The goal is NOT for every page to be pretty.
